Knitting vs. Carpal Tunnel

In honour of my 300 post, I thought I'd take the time out of the pain I'm in to write about my newly diagnosed Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. It first started off about 8 months ago in my right hand, and like everything else, I waited a long time before I went to a doctor (or walk-in clinic in my case). I only went because a few nights ago my whole right hand/arm, from my finger tips to my elbow completely fell asleep. I spent two hours trying to get my circulation back and was almost in tears. As it stands, I now have it in both my hands/wrists now and haven't been able to knit for a while or do anything that involves my hands. And I'm on a course of anti-inflamatories AND wear splints on my hands when I'm sleeping and one on my right hand during the day (while I'm not at work, even though I should). If it weren't for the office move, I'd be wearing it. Check out the link for the exercises you can do to prevent Carpal Tunnel from happening to you! I should mention that I work on a computer most of the day, and the knitting wasn't the cause, it just didn't help it. Which is why its in both hands, not just the right.

The New Bins

With a little more organizataion, I'll get these bins to the point where I'll know exactly what's inside them. Even if the only contents are yarn and fabric, I believe a little colour coordination is in order. I started off with only the clear bins, but then couldn't find them anymore. I found these black ones, which will probably save the contents from fading, however, now its just one more step for me from knowing what's inside. Oh, we bought another Ikea shelf, but its still not as organized as I'd like it, and somehow clothes have made there way on it now!

Cleaning up

the one in the front looks sad

For the past few months, I've been collecting empty boxes at my desk for the big office move. Last week, I stumbled across a box with something in it. These were the sheep I got a few months ago and totally forgot about! The one in the forground looks so sad :(

Yarn Photog.

It recently occured to me that I never took pictures of this stash of yarn I won on ebay (or bought, depending on how you view ebay) over six months ago for dirt cheap. I got 12 balls of this for the price of two, or three and a half when you include the shipping.

Flower Basket

While cleaning up one of the storage closets at work, I came across a box of kids toys that were bought for the office picnic over five years ago. One of the items was this knitting loom thingy that made flowers, these were the colours of yarn that came with the kit. Its a little slippery, and I'm not sure how children would use this easily, however you can see the finished product. I'm attaching all my little flowers onto the outside of the basket, I'll take another picture when its more covered.

Still working on it

I've done some organizing at home too and have decided to start this basket of "Work In Progress" and of course this blanket I'm crocheting is the first one to make it in. Oh, there is a scarf that should go in there too...if I can find it!

A little more fabric

My office is moving and I haven't had much time to do anything at night because I'm exhausted from all the organizing (which I love doing) and packing (which I don't love so much - because its not my stuff). Anyways, the next six weeks maybe hit or miss for blogging. Unless I'm given more fabric samples!

My New Fabric Stash

Instead of boring you with all the photos I took yesterday, I created this mosaic of the images. To get a better view of them you can see them in my flickr set.
